Team Member – Front of House (FOH)
Job Summary
As a Team Member at The Cherry Tree Cafe, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. You will ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Handling & Hospitality
Welcome every guest with a warm smile and positive attitude.
Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
Assist guests in selecting food and beverages.
Answer menu-related questions confidently.
Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when required.
Build positive relationships with guests and encourage repeat visits.
2. Table Service
Prepare tables before guest arrival.
Take accurate food and beverage orders.
Serve food and drinks according to service standards.
Check guest satisfaction during the meal.
Clear tables promptly after use.
Reset tables for the next guests.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the dining area at all times.
3. Product Knowledge
Learn the complete food, bakery, beverage, and dessert menu.
Recommend add-on items and upsell wherever appropriate.
Inform guests about new launches, seasonal specials, and ongoing offers.
4. Order Coordination
Coordinate efficiently with the kitchen and beverage counter.
Ensure orders are served correctly and on time.
Verify order accuracy before serving.
5. Cash & Billing
Generate bills accurately.
Handle cash, UPI, card, and wallet payments.
Maintain proper cash handling procedures.
Close bills without discrepancies.
6. Online Orders (Swiggy, Zomato & Takeaway)
Accept and process online orders promptly.
Ensure accurate packing and labelling.
Coordinate with delivery partners.
Verify order quality before dispatch.
7. Hygiene & Cleanliness
Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards.
Keep tables, counters, service stations, and guest areas clean.
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
8. Teamwork
Support fellow team members during busy hours.
Maintain positive communication with all departments.
Attend daily briefings and training sessions.
Skills Required
Excellent communication skills.
Friendly and customer-focused attitude.
Good grooming and presentation.
Ability to work under pressure.
Basic computer/POS knowledge.
Team player with a positive mindset.
Qualification
Minimum 10th/12th Pass.
Diploma in Hotel Management is an added advantage.
Experience
0–3 years of experience in a café, restaurant, bakery, hotel, or QSR.
Freshers with a positive attitude and willingness to learn are welcome.
Working Hours
Rotational shifts.
Weekend and holiday availability is mandatory.
