A waiter provides excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking accurate food/drink orders using POS systems, and serving orders promptly. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, tidy dining area, offering menu recommendations, handling payments, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the meal. They work in fast-paced environments, often requiring weekend/evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet guests, present menus, and offer detailed information on menu items, ingredients, and potential allergens.

• Order Management: Accurately take food and drink orders (including special requests) and communicate them directly to kitchen or bar staff

• Service Delivery: Deliver food and beverages, check in with guests to ensure satisfaction, and refill drinks.

• Table Maintenance: Prepare tables by setting up linens and silverware; clear and clean tables promptly after guests leave.

• Payment Handling: Prepare and deliver checks, processing cash or credit card payments.

• Collaboration: Work with teammates to manage, coordinate, and maintain a smooth flow of service.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to interact with guests and team members.

• Multitasking: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tables simultaneously.

• Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods, and carry heavy trays.

• Product Knowledge: Thorough understanding of food and beverage menus.

• Experience: Previous experience as a waiter or in hospitality is preferred, though not always required.

• Flexibility: Availability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
