Job Title: Restaurant Captain
Department: Food & Beverage Service
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / F&B Manager
Location: Koregaon Park, Pune (Thyme & Whisk )
Role Overview
The Restaurant Captain oversees front-of-house service operations during shifts, ensuring guests receive prompt, courteous, and high-quality service. The role involves supervising wait staff, coordinating with the kitchen, and maintaining service standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Service Operations
Ensure guests are greeted, seated, and served according to service standards.
Monitor food and beverage service for quality and timing.
Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when needed.
Assist in taking orders and serving during busy periods.
Team Supervision
Lead, brief, and allocate duties to stewards/waiters.
Train new staff on SOPs, menu knowledge, and service etiquette.
Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, and performance.
Motivate the team to achieve high guest satisfaction.
Coordination
Liaise with kitchen and bar for smooth order flow.
Ensure proper table setup and cleanliness of the dining area.
Coordinate reservations and table management.
Administrative Duties
Prepare shift reports and sales summaries.
Check bills for accuracy before presenting to guests.
Maintain inventory of service equipment (cutlery, crockery, linen).
Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or related field (preferred)
0.6–3 years of experience in restaurant service
Strong leadership and communication skills
Excellent guest-handling ability
