Job Summary:
The Restaurant Captain is responsible for supervising the service team, ensuring smooth restaurant operations, maintaining service standards, handling guest concerns, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service
Welcome and assist guests professionally
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Handle guest complaints or special requests promptly
Monitor dining experience and service quality
Team Supervision
Supervise waiters, stewards, and service staff
Assign tables and service sections
Train new staff on service procedures
Ensure grooming and discipline standards are maintained
Operations Management
Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service
Ensure timely food and beverage delivery
Monitor table turnover and reservations
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
Check mise en place before service
Sales & Upselling
Recommend menu items and promotions
Increase sales through upselling food and beverages
Support the achievement of revenue targets
Administrative Duties
Prepare shift reports
Manage billing accuracy
