The Kitchen Helper assists kitchen staff in preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently. This role supports cooks and chefs by performing basic food preparation and sanitation tasks in accordance with health and safety standards.
Assist with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients
Keep the kitchen clean by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Clean and sanitize work areas, floors, and food preparation surfaces
Dispose of garbage and recycling properly
Store food items correctly and assist with stock rotation
Help receive and organize food deliveries
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times
Support kitchen staff during busy periods as needed
Previous kitchen or food service experience is an advantage but not required
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
