We are hiring a Senior Steward to join our food and beverage team. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining hygiene standards, supervising junior stewards, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen and service areas. As a Senior Steward, you will play a key role in supporting the kitchen and service staff while upholding high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Supervise and assist the stewarding team in cleaning and maintaining kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas
Ensure proper cleaning of dishes, silverware, glassware, and kitchen tools
Monitor and maintain hygiene and sanitation standards as per hotel policies and health regulations
Support chefs and service teams by ensuring timely availability of cleaned items
Maintain cleanliness in kitchen storage areas, garbage disposal systems, and dishwashing sections
Check the functioning of dishwashing machines and report any malfunctions
Train and guide junior stewards on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and work responsibilities
Manage cleaning schedules and ensure adherence to daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
Assist in inventory control of cleaning supplies and stewarding equipment
Minimum 6 month–6+ years of experience in stewarding or kitchen support roles (preferably in a hotel or restaurant)
Strong knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards
Ability to lead a small team and ensure task completion
Physical stamina to work long hours, including standing for extended periods
Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and cleaning techniques
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
