Job Description for AutoCAD Drafting Specialist (Tekla Detailing)

Job Overview:

We are looking for freshers or entry-level candidates to join our team as AutoCAD Drafting Specialists. The primary responsibility will be converting PDF or scanned drawings into AutoCAD (DWG) files, while the secondary responsibility will involve editing or updating Tekla detailing work provided. This role offers hands-on experience with structural steel detailing and adherence to AISC standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

 Main Role: Convert PDF or scanned drawings into accurate AutoCAD (DWG) files.

 Prepare inch-based AutoCAD drawings according to project standards and client requirements.

 Modify existing AutoCAD drawings based on markups, redlines, or instructions.

 Secondary Role: Edit and update Tekla detailing work provided, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

 Ensure correct layers, line types, dimensions, scales, and annotations in both AutoCAD and Tekla.

 Maintain consistency with drafting standards, templates, and AISC guidelines.

 Coordinate with engineers, designers, or project managers to clarify requirements.  Review AutoCAD drawings and Tekla detailing for accuracy and completeness before submission.

 Revise drawings and Tekla detailing based on feedback within defined timelines.
 Organize and maintain drawing files and Tekla detailing efficiently, ensuring proper version control.
 Meet project deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
 Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (2D & 3D); Tekla Structures familiarity is a plus (training will be provided).
 Understanding of basic structural steel concepts and AISC standards is advantageous.
 Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
 Strong attention to detail, precision, and organizational skills.
 Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Tools/Software:
 AutoCAD (2D & 3D) – primary tool for drawing conversion

 Tekla Structures – secondary tool for editing provided detailing work

Standards:
 AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction)

Educational Qualifications:

Diploma in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
