Job Title: Solar Installation Technician
Job Summary
A Solar Installation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role involves working with electrical systems, mounting structures, wiring, and ensuring installations comply with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install solar PV panels, mounting systems, inverters, and related equipment.
Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and installation plans.
Assemble and install rooftop or ground-mounted solar systems.
Perform electrical wiring and connections according to applicable codes and standards.
Conduct testing, commissioning, and system performance checks.
Troubleshoot and repair solar system issues when required.
Ensure adherence to workplace safety procedures and use of PPE.
Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and project teams during installations.
Maintain tools, equipment, and installation records.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or related field.
Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical wiring.
Ability to work at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.
Understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures.
Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Physical fitness for lifting and installation activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in solar panel installation or electrical fieldwork.
Certification in solar PV installation or electrical safety.
Knowledge of net metering and inverter configuration.
Valid driving license is an advantage.
