Telecom Technician – Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for installation, operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom infrastructure including BTS equipment, power systems, DG sets, batteries, microwave links, and tower-related equipment to ensure maximum network uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of telecom tower sites and BTS equipment.

• Monitor and maintain power plants, DG sets, battery banks, SMPS, and air-conditioning units at telecom sites.

• Troubleshoot network, electrical, and equipment faults.

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.

• Conduct site inspections and quality audits.

• Support installation and commissioning of BTS, microwave antennas, and related telecom equipment.

• Ensure site uptime and adherence to SLA requirements.

• Coordinate with vendors and field teams for repairs and maintenance.

• Maintain daily service reports and maintenance records.

• Follow safety procedures while working at telecom tower sites.

Required Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, ECE, Telecommunications, or related field.

• Freshers can apply.

• Experience in telecom tower maintenance, BTS operations, or field services is preferred.

Technical Skills

• BTS installation and maintenance.

• Knowledge of GSM/LTE/4G/5G telecom networks.

• DG, SMPS, Battery Bank, and Power Plant maintenance.

• Fiber optic and microwave equipment basics.

• Electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

• MS Office and mobile-based reporting tools.

Preferred Experience

• 0–5 years in telecom infrastructure, O&M, tower maintenance, or network support.

• Experience working with telecom operators such as Airtel, Jio, Vodafone Idea, or tower infrastructure companies is advantageous.
