Responsibilities:
Installation of Irrigation Systems
Lay out, assemble, and install pipes, sprinklers, valves, drip systems, controllers, and other irrigation components.
Test new installations to verify proper operation and water distribution.
Adjust sprinkler heads, nozzles, and emitters for optimal coverage.
Maintenance and Repair
Perform regular system inspections to identify issues such as leaks, clogs, or misaligned sprinklers.
Repair or replace damaged parts, including pipes, pumps, valves, and controllers.
Clean and flush systems to remove blockages or sediment buildup.
Ensure seasonal adjustments, such as winterization or reactivation in spring, are completed effectively.
Water Management
Adjust irrigation schedules based on weather, soil conditions, and plant water needs.
Install and calibrate smart irrigation technologies like soil moisture sensors and rain shut-off devices.
Monitor water usage and recommend improvements to reduce waste.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
Diagnose problems like uneven water distribution, low pressure, or electrical malfunctions in controllers.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to locate and resolve underground leaks or wiring issues.
Provide solutions for system inefficiencies, such as upgrading to water-saving technologies.
Knowledge of Tools and Equipment
Operate trenchers, pipe cutters, and other tools required for system installation and repair.
Maintain and store tools in proper working condition.
