Job Title: Maintenance & Safety Supervisor

Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Location: Plant / Factory
Reports To: Plant Manager / Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

The Maintenance & Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of plant machinery through preventive and breakdown maintenance while maintaining a safe working environment. The role includes supervising maintenance activities, implementing safety standards, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with company and statutory safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Maintenance

• Supervise preventive and breakdown maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment.

• Ensure proper functioning and minimal downtime of machines.

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.

• Coordinate with production teams to reduce machine downtime.

• Maintain records of maintenance activities and machine history.

• Monitor spare parts availability and coordinate with stores for procurement.

2. Safety Management

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and statutory safety regulations.

• Conduct regular safety inspections of machines, tools, and work areas.

• Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

• Ensure proper use of PPE by all employees.

• Conduct safety awareness sessions and toolbox talks.

3. Incident & Risk Management

• Investigate accidents, near-miss incidents, and unsafe conditions.

• Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures.

• Implement corrective and preventive safety actions.

4. Team Supervision

• Supervise maintenance technicians and workers.

• Allocate daily maintenance tasks and monitor completion.

• Provide guidance and technical support to maintenance staff.

5. Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.

• Ensure compliance with factory safety standards and audit requirements.

• Assist in internal and external safety audits.

Experience

• Experience in plant safety practices and compliance is preferred.
