Job Summary

GD Goenka School, Varanasi is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and visionary Principal to lead the school in accordance with CBSE norms and the GD Goenka brand ethos. The Principal will be responsible for academic excellence, administrative leadership, staff development, student welfare, and overall school growth.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

Ensure effective implementation of CBSE curriculum and guidelines

Maintain high academic standards and promote innovative teaching practices

Monitor lesson planning, assessments, examinations, and learning outcomes

Lead curriculum planning, teacher mentoring, and academic reviews

Administrative & Operational Management

Oversee daily school operations, discipline, and compliance with CBSE and statutory requirements

Prepare and manage academic calendars, timetables, and school policies

Ensure safety, hygiene, and a positive learning environment

Coordinate with management on budgeting, planning, and infrastructure needs

Staff Management & Development

Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff

Foster a collaborative, motivated, and performance-driven work culture

Conduct regular staff meetings, workshops, and professional development programs

Student Development & Discipline

Promote holistic development of students—academic, emotional, social, and ethical

Maintain discipline and ensure student well-being

Encourage co-curricular and extracurricular activities aligned with CBSE norms

Parent & Community Engagement

Build strong relationships with parents through effective communication

Represent the school at official meetings, events, and CBSE interactions

Address parent and student concerns professionally and empathetically

Eligibility & Qualifications

Postgraduate degree with B.Ed / M.Ed (mandatory)

Minimum 8–12 years of teaching experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role (Principal / Vice Principal / Headmistress)

Thorough knowledge of CBSE Board rules, affiliation process, and academic framework

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
