Position: Physical Education Teacher (PET)
Department: Physical Education & Sports
Reporting To: Principal / Vice Principal / HR
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Physical Education classes and fitness activities for students.
Organize indoor and outdoor sports activities, tournaments, and competitions.
Train and mentor students for inter-college, university, state, and national-level sports events.
Monitor and ensure that students adhere to the institution's grooming and dress code policies, including proper uniform, ID card, shoes, and overall appearance.
Maintain discipline among students during classes, sports activities, and institutional events.
Conduct regular physical fitness assessments and encourage healthy lifestyle practices among students.
Ensure the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of sports grounds, courts, gymnasium, and sports equipment.
Report any damages or maintenance requirements of sports facilities and coordinate with the Maintenance Department for timely rectification.
Maintain inventory records of sports equipment and ensure proper utilization and storage.
Prepare annual sports calendars and coordinate all sports-related activities of the institution.
Coordinate and accompany students participating in external sports competitions whenever required.
Maintain records of student attendance, sports participation, achievements, and departmental activities.
Assist in organizing college functions, orientation programs, cultural events, and institutional activities assigned by the Management.
Submit periodic departmental reports related to sports activities, student participation, grooming observations, and maintenance requirements.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies, safety measures, and disciplinary guidelines.
Promote leadership, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Management, Principal, Vice Principal, or Head of Department from time to time.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Master's Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) from a recognized university.
Relevant teaching, coaching, or sports administration experience in an educational institution is preferred.
NET/SET qualification will be an added advantage wherever applicable.
