Chemistry Teacher – Roles & Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons according to the curriculum.
Explain concepts such as chemical reactions, bonding, organic chemistry, thermochemistry, and periodic trends clearly.
Conduct practical laboratory experiments and ensure proper laboratory safety.
Prepare lesson plans, assignments, worksheets, quizzes, and question papers.
Assess students through tests, practicals, assignments, and examinations.
Monitor students’ academic progress and provide individual guidance and feedback.
Help students prepare for school/board examinations and competitive exams where applicable.
Maintain attendance, marks, academic records, and classroom discipline.
Use demonstrations, models, and digital teaching tools to make Chemistry more interactive.
Identify students’ learning difficulties and provide remedial support.
Communicate with parents and school management regarding students’ performance when required.
Keep up to date with Chemistry concepts, teaching methods, and curriculum changes.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom learning environment.
