Key Responsibilities
1. CCTV Monitoring & Store Surveillance
Monitor live CCTV footage across assigned retail stores.
Maintain continuous surveillance of critical areas such as:
Store entrances and exits
Cash counters
Customer areas
Product display areas
High-value product sections
Stockrooms and warehouses
Service/repair counters
Employee entry/exit areas
Identify suspicious customer or employee behaviour and immediately escalate concerns.
Monitor store opening and closing activities through CCTV.
2. Loss Prevention & Shrinkage Control
Identify potential cases of shoplifting, pilferage, internal theft, product manipulation, and inventory shrinkage.
Monitor movement of high-value products and identify unusual handling or removal.
Identify suspicious patterns involving employees, customers, vendors, delivery personnel, or third parties.
Support the Loss Prevention team in reducing retail shrinkage through proactive surveillance.
Monitor adherence to product movement and stock-handling procedures.
3. Cash & POS Monitoring
Monitor cash counter activities through CCTV.
Identify unusual cash-handling practices, unauthorized transactions, or process deviations.
Monitor POS activities where CCTV visibility permits.
Identify instances of unauthorized access to cash counters or cash storage areas.
Escalate suspected cash-related irregularities to the concerned manager.
4. Employee Compliance Monitoring
Monitor employee adherence to store SOPs through CCTV.
Identify unauthorized activities, negligence, prolonged idle time, improper customer handling, or policy violations.
Monitor employee movement in restricted areas.
Identify unauthorized product handling or removal.
Provide factual CCTV observations to management during employee-related investigations.
5. Incident Investigation
Review recorded CCTV footage related to:
Customer complaints
Product loss
Theft incidents
Cash discrepancies
Inventory mismatches
Employee misconduct
Customer/employee disputes
Property damage
Retrieve and preserve relevant footage for investigation.
Prepare clear incident reports with date, time, store location, persons involved, observations, and footage reference.
Maintain confidentiality of all investigation-related information.
6. Store Operations Monitoring
Monitor compliance with key retail SOPs through CCTV.
Identify operational gaps that may lead to revenue loss, customer complaints, or security risks.
Monitor vendor, delivery, and third-party movements where applicable.
Report recurring process violations to the Retail Operations/Loss Prevention team.
7. Multi-Store Surveillance & Reporting
Monitor CCTV systems across multiple retail locations from a central surveillance/control room, where applicable.
Maintain daily surveillance logs.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports covering:
Incidents identified
Theft/shrinkage cases
SOP violations
Cash-related observations
Employee-related observations
Store-wise exceptions
Track open incidents until closure.
8. CCTV System & Escalation
Ensure CCTV cameras are operational and properly positioned.
Report camera downtime, blind spots, recording failures, or technical issues immediately.
Coordinate with IT/technical teams for CCTV-related issues.
Maintain appropriate access control over CCTV recordings and surveillance systems.
