Role Summary
We are looking for a driven Sales Manager based in Ahmedabad to grow CONTRANS' footprint among manufacturers across Gujarat. The role is primarily field-based, meeting procurement heads, plant managers, and decision-makers at manufacturing units, qualifying them through our sales funnel, and converting them into active business accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Qualification
Identify and map manufacturers across Ahmedabad, Surat, Hazira, Sachin GIDC, Olpad, and the broader South Gujarat belt.
Verify Person-In-Charge (PIC) at each target account, procurement, purchase, plant head, or director level.
Maintain an updated daily call log and account master in the company's DSR (Daily Sales Report) tracker.
Field Sales & Client Engagement
Conduct on-site client visits to manufacturing facilities for introductions, product presentations, and relationship building
Move accounts through the sales funnel: calling, PIC Verified, Introduction Meeting registration of new clients, converting query to quotation business.
Build long-term relationships with Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 manufacturers
Quotation & Closure
Coordinate with the internal team to share quotations basis client queries
Negotiate commercials, follow up persistently, and close orders
Ensure timely registration of new accounts and smooth handover to operations
Reporting & Market Intelligence
Update DSR daily — calls made, meetings done, stage movement, quotations shared
Track manufacturer capacity, certifications/approvals, and recent industry news for assigned accounts
Share weekly KPI reports with the manager
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Graduate in any discipline; B.E./B.Tech or MBA (Sales/Marketing) preferred
Experience: 1–3 years in B2B field sales, ideally in industrial products, capital goods, electrical, or a related manufacturing-focused segment.
Languages: Fluency in Gujarati and Hindi is mandatory; working English for reporting.
Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of B2B sales cycles, manufacturer ecosystems, and tiered account management is a strong plus
Tools: Comfortable with Google Sheets, WhatsApp Business, basic CRM/DSR tools
Personal Attributes
Self-starter, comfortable with daily field travel across Surat and surrounding industrial belts
Strong negotiation, follow-up discipline, and persuasion skills
Process-oriented — willing to maintain detailed logs and structured pipeline data
Owns a two-wheeler with valid driving license
