Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Accounting: Track high-volume book inventory, manage landed costs, standard cost variance, and handle stock reconciliations across multiple warehouses.
Distributor & School Reconciliations: Reconcile accounts receivable/payable with schools, retail outlets, and publishers, including seasonal returns and bulk credit notes.
Financial Reporting & Ledger Management: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow forecasts tailored to seasonal retail cycles.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Manage GST filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), TDS computations, income tax returns, and ensure statutory compliance for publishing/distribution standards.
Audit Preparation: Lead internal and external financial audits, ensuring all documentation and ledger entries align with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Master’s in Commerce (M.Com). Inter CA or CMA certification is a major plus.
Experience: 2–3 years of core accounting experience, preferably in distribution, publishing, FMCG, or retail supply chain management.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime, Busy, or enterprise ERP systems, alongside expert-level MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of GST norms applicable to books, printed materials, freight, and distribution margins.
