Jewellery Salesman

Role of Merchandiser cum Sales:

Product Planning & Assortment

• Plan the jewellery mix for stores (bridal, lightweight, solitaires, cocktail pieces, etc.).

• Decide what styles to stock based on:

  • market demand

  • seasonal trends

  • wedding seasons

• Maintain balance of:

  • necklaces

  • earrings

  • bangles

  • rings

  • bridal sets

2. Inventory Management

• Monitor stock levels in all stores.

• Ensure fast-moving pieces are replenished.

• Identify slow-moving designs and plan promotions or redesign.

• Manage transfers between stores.

3. Sales Analysis

• Track best-selling jewellery designs.

• Analyze category performance (diamond, gold, coloured stones).

• Review:

  • Average bill value

  • Category contribution

  • Conversion rates

4. Coordination with Design & Production

• Work closely with designers to develop new collections.

• Provide market feedback on:

  • what customers want

  • which designs are trending

• Coordinate with manufacturing teams for production timelines.

5. Pricing & Product Strategy

• Assist in pricing jewellery pieces based on:

  • gold weight

  • diamond cost

  • making charges

• Ensure competitive pricing vs other brands.

6. Store Merchandising & Display

• Plan store display layouts.

• Decide which collections to highlight in windows or counters.

• Support launch of new collections.

7. Vendor & Supply Chain Management

• Work with diamond suppliers, gemstone vendors, and manufacturers.

• Ensure quality and timely delivery of jewellery.

Key Skills Required

 Product knowledge (diamonds, gemstones, gold)
 Strong Excel & sales analysis
 Understanding of jewellery design trends
 Inventory management
 Coordination with designers, stores, and production
