Job Description
Job Title: Sales Closer & Business Operations Owner — Furniture (Online Sales)
Company: Rare Crafters
Department: Sales & Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
Rare Crafters needs a closer, not a chat responder. Every lead that lands on WhatsApp or any other platform is revenue sitting on the table — your job is to pick it up before it goes cold and convert it. This is not a passive customer-support seat. You will own the full sales pipeline end-to-end, and you will also be trusted to run parts of the business — coordinating with a separate furniture supply company and holding our marketing agency accountable for actual results. If you need constant supervision or wait to be told what to do, this role is not for you. We want someone who takes ownership, moves fast, and is judged on outcomes, not effort.
This is a standalone position. You are not part of a team of coworkers doing the same job — you represent your own identity within the company and are individually accountable for everything under this role. There is no colleague to lean on, defer to, or blame. "I had too many tasks" or "another employee didn't do their part" are not acceptable explanations — it is your job to get things done through your own communication and coordination skills, regardless of how many things are on your plate. What gets done, and how well it gets done, is entirely on you, with no excuses.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Lead Conversion — Your #1 Priority
• Own every inbound lead from first message to closed sale. No lead sits unanswered — respond fast, every time, on WhatsApp and every other platform we get leads on (Instagram, Facebook, website chat, marketplaces, etc.).
• Convert. Not just "engage" — close. You are expected to actively push every qualified conversation toward a sale using real, proven conversion techniques (objection handling, urgency, upselling, closing scripts).
• Chase down cold and hesitant leads relentlessly with structured follow-ups — a lead is never "lost" until you've exhausted every angle to convert it.
• Know the product catalog, pricing, and promotions cold — customers should never feel like they're talking to someone who isn't fully in command of what they're selling.
• Track every lead and every conversion in a clear, structured system. If it's not tracked, it didn't happen.
• Take full accountability for your conversion rate. You will be measured on numbers, not activity.
Business Coordination & Operations — You Run This, Not Just Support It
• Own the coordination with the separate furniture supply company — a distinct, independent business, not a division of Rare Crafters — to get accurate, current stock and availability data, no gaps, no excuses.
• Keep the furniture availability Excel sheet accurate and current at all times — this is the single source of truth for the sales side, and errors here directly cost sales.
• Be the accountable link between Rare Crafters and that external company — if information isn't flowing, that's on you to fix, not just flag.
• Manage the relationship with our external marketing/social media agency — you are their accountability check, not a passive contact point.
• Actively audit whether the agency is delivering real results across marketing and social media. If they're underperforming, call it out and push for fixes — don't wait for management to notice.
• Drive efficiency across every function that touches the agency's output. You're expected to spot problems before they become management's problem.
• Report sales numbers and operational status proactively — management should never have to chase you for updates.
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets — e-commerce, D2C, or online retail preferred (furniture/home decor is a strong plus).
• Hands-on, demonstrable command of sales conversion techniques — not theoretical knowledge. You should be able to walk us through how you've closed hesitant customers before.
• Sharp, persuasive written and verbal communication — you need to be able to sell in a chat window, in real time, without hand-holding.
• Formal training or certification in sales/conversion strongly preferred.
• Strong command of MS Excel/Google Sheets — you'll be maintaining live, business-critical data.
• Comfortable holding external parties (supplier company, marketing agency) accountable — you push for answers and results, you don't just wait for them.
• Highly organized and unshaken by juggling multiple live conversations, follow-ups, and coordination tasks at once.
• A self-starter who takes ownership of outcomes — sales numbers, accurate data, agency performance — without needing to be micromanaged.
You Will Be Measured On
• Lead-to-sale conversion rate.
• Speed of first response and follow-up consistency.
• Accuracy and timeliness of the furniture availability sheet.
• How effectively you hold the marketing agency accountable for real output.
• Overall smoothness of coordination with the external supply company — zero avoidable breakdowns.
Professionalism & Conduct — Non-Negotiable
• Strict professionalism is required at all times, with customers, with the external supply company, and with the marketing agency. No informal talk, no casual tone, no shortcuts in how you communicate.
• All written communication (WhatsApp, chat platforms, email) must be professional in language and tone — this is a business representing Rare Crafters, not a personal chat.
• You represent Rare Crafters independently in every interaction. There is no informal buffer of coworkers around you — your conduct is the company's conduct, every single time.
• Any lapse into informal or unprofessional communication with customers, the supply company, or the agency will be treated as a serious performance issue.
