Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, acquiring customers, and promoting solar energy solutions to commercial, industrial, residential, and government clients. The role requires strong knowledge of solar technologies, market trends, and renewable energy regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the solar energy sector.
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Generate leads through networking, market research, referrals, and industry events.
Build and maintain relationships with key clients, EPC contractors, consultants, and channel partners.
Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and commercial offers to prospective customers.
Negotiate contracts and close deals.
Market Analysis
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
Analyze customer requirements and recommend suitable solar solutions.
Identify potential markets for rooftop, ground-mounted, commercial, and industrial solar projects.
Client Relationship Management
Maintain long-term relationships with existing customers.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Coordinate with technical and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
Develop partnerships with developers, EPC companies, financiers, distributors, and government agencies.
Explore opportunities for strategic alliances and joint ventures.
Project Coordination
Work closely with engineering, design, and operations teams during project development.
Support project feasibility assessments and commercial evaluations.
Ensure smooth handover from sales to project execution teams.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate sales pipeline and CRM records.
Prepare sales forecasts, monthly reports, and market intelligence updates.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business development metrics.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in solar, renewable energy, power, or infrastructure sectors.
Knowledge of solar PV systems, net metering, PPA models, and renewable energy policies.
