Business Development Manager

A Business Development Manager (BDM) at SBI (including its subsidiaries like SBI Life Insurance or SBI General Insurance) focuses on driving revenue, acquiring new customers, and managing branch/partner relationships. The role blends client acquisition, team mentorship, and strategic cross-selling. 

Key Responsibilities

• Sales Target Achievement: Drive and exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets for financial and insurance products (e.g., life/general insurance, credit cards).

• Channel & Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of insurance advisors/agents, and drive sales productivity across the agency channel.

• Stakeholder Relations: Build strong, long-lasting relationships with State Bank of India branch managers, corporate clients, and customers to ensure a high-quality lead pipeline.

• Product Pitching & Client Acquisition: Identify new business opportunities, conduct field visits, and deliver compelling sales pitches tailored to customer financial needs.

• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all sales, documentation, and KYC protocols strictly comply with banking and insurance regulatory standards.

• Market Analysis: Monitor competitor activities and market trends to adjust sales strategies and improve competitive positioning. 

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.

• Experience: Typically 1 to 6 years of proven experience in field sales, banking, or the insurance/financial services sector.

• Skills: Strong negotiation, team leadership, and excellent communication skills.

• Knowledge: Deep understanding of insurance products, investment options, and banking channels.

• Documents: Driving license must.
