The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales, managing distribution channels, developing new markets, and ensuring growth in cattle feed products within the assigned territory. The role requires strong leadership, market knowledge, and the ability to manage a sales team effectively.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for cattle feed products in the assigned area.
Develop and implement area-wise sales strategies to maximize market share and profitability.
Appoint, train, and manage distributors, dealers, and sales representatives.
Conduct field visits to monitor sales activities, farmer meetings, and product demonstrations.
Build strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and end-users (farmers, dairy owners).
Ensure proper market coverage, visibility, and product availability.
Conduct competitor analysis and suggest strategies to counter market challenges.
Guide and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team objectives.
Monitor outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.
Submit periodic sales reports and market feedback to management.
Strong knowledge of cattle feed, dairy nutrition, and rural/agri markets.
Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a sales team.
Analytical and problem-solving ability.
Strong relationship management with distributors and farmers.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
Graduate/ Postgraduate in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, or MBA in Marketing.
0–6 years of experience in sales of cattle feed/animal nutrition/agri-inputs.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
