Stores Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of a large-format retail store (hypermarket). This includes managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining inventory levels, maximizing sales, and ensuring that the store operates efficiently and profitably. The manager also ensures that the store complies with company policies, procedures, and standards.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hypermarket.
Implement operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth store functioning.
Monitor store performance and take corrective actions to meet targets.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance across departments (Grocery, Fresh Foods, Non-Foods, etc.).
Develop work schedules and assign duties to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Motivate and lead a large team to achieve sales and operational goals.
Conduct regular team meetings and staff training sessions.
Drive sales performance and meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
Ensure high standards of customer service and handle major customer issues.
Monitor competitor activity and develop strategies to stay competitive.
Oversee inventory control and stock management to minimize shrinkage.
Ensure timely replenishment of stock and proper product display.
Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams for smooth supply chain operations.
Conduct regular stock audits and ensure proper inventory documentation.
Manage store budgets, expenses, and financial reporting.
Monitor cash flow, manage cash registers, and ensure accuracy in cash handling.
Analyze sales data and financial reports to identify areas of improvement.
Collaborate with marketing teams to implement in-store promotions and campaigns.
Ensure all promotional materials and signage are correctly displayed.
Monitor effectiveness of promotions and adjust strategies accordingly.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in retail management, with at least 3 years in a hypermarket or large-format store.
Proven experience managing large teams and high-volume sales environments.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and forecasting.
Proficiency in retail management systems (ERP/POS).
