The HVAC / AC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The role requires strong technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and knowledge of HVAC equipment and safety standards.
Install split AC, window AC, VRF/VRV systems, ductable units, and central HVAC systems.
Lay and braze copper piping, install ducts, insulation, drainage, and electrical connections.
Mount indoor/outdoor units and ensure proper alignment and airflow.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning filters, coils, blower fans, and drainage lines.
Check refrigerant levels and identify leaks.
Inspect electrical components, thermostats, and controllers.
Ensure proper functioning of compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
Diagnose AC/HVAC system issues such as cooling problems, noise, water leakage, or electrical faults.
Repair or replace faulty components (motors, capacitors, PCB, sensors, compressors, etc.).
Conduct refrigerant recovery, vacuuming, and gas charging.
Maintain service records and job sheets.
Provide customers with technical explanations and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigeration cycle.
Familiarity with tools such as manifold gauge, multimeter, vacuum pump, leak detector, and brazing equipment.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
Good problem-solving, communication, and customer-handling skills.
Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments.
ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or HVAC.
Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience (can be adjusted as per need).
Certification in HVAC maintenance or safety is a plus.
