Akshar Árbol International School (AAIS) is seeking an experienced Head – Human Resources to lead the school’s people strategy and HR operations. The role partners closely with the and School Leadership Team to develop strong & sustgainable HR systems, ensure statutory compliance, and support the school’s long-term growth through effective workforce planning and employee engagement.
This is a leadership role suited for senior HR professionals with experience in schools, education institutions, or structured multi-stakeholder environments.
Develop and implement the school’s HR strategy aligned with academic and organisational goals
Drive workforce planning, manpower budgeting, and succession planning
Strengthen organisational structure, role clarity, and performance frameworks
Act as a strategic advisor to the School Leadership Team on people matters
Strategically partner with the Headship to design and sustain a positive, inclusive, and high-accountability school culture that supports staff engagement, retention, and long-term institutional growth.
Oversee end-to-end HR lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance, engagement, and exits
Ensure implementation and periodic review of HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbook
Maintain strong HR MIS, dashboards, analytics, and Board-level reports
Ensure full compliance with labour laws and statutory requirements applicable to schools
(PF, ESI, gratuity, leave, wages, contract labour, POSH, inspections, audits)
Lead statutory audits, documentation, and liaison with consultants and authorities
Oversee POSH compliance, internal committees, awareness programs, and reporting
Identify HR risks and ensure preventive and corrective action plans
Lead annual recruitment planning and hiring strategy for teaching and non-teaching staff
Strengthen employer branding and talent pipelines
Oversee induction, confirmation, and performance review processes
Design and oversee staff engagement, well-being, and retention initiatives
Guide professional development planning in coordination with academic leadership
Track training effectiveness and build capability frameworks
Oversee payroll accuracy, leave management, reimbursements, and settlements
Ensure alignment with statutory norms and internal policies
Partner with Finance for budgeting, increments, and compensation planning
Act as custodian of all HR contracts, agreements, and confidential records
Coordinate HR inputs for Board and Leadership meetings
Drive a values-led, people-centric school culture
Strong strategic thinking and execution capability
Deep knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance
High integrity, discretion, and stakeholder management
Ability to work in academic, people-driven environments
Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
Postgraduate in Human Resources / Management / Law or related field
10–15 years of progressive HR experience (education sector preferred)
Proven experience in leading HR strategy, compliance, and teams
Leadership role in a growing international school
