Job Purpose

The HR Recruiter will be responsible for managing the complete recruitment cycle for the commercial vehicle dealership, ensuring timely availability of skilled and suitable manpower across Sales, Service, Workshop, Body Shop, Parts, Administration, Finance and other dealership functions.

The role requires strong knowledge of local talent markets, particularly for automotive technicians, service advisors, sales executives, drivers, workshop staff and dealership support functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

• Handle end-to-end recruitment from manpower requisition to joining.

• Understand manpower requirements from different dealership departments.

• Source candidates through job portals, employee references, consultants, social media, local networks and campus/ITI contacts.

• Maintain a strong pipeline of candidates for critical dealership positions.

• Conduct preliminary screening and coordinate interviews with department heads.

• Follow up with selected candidates until joining and ensure minimum joining drop-outs.

2. Automotive & Commercial Vehicle Recruitment

• Recruit candidates for Commercial Vehicle Sales, Service and Workshop operations.

• Hire profiles such as:

  • Sales Consultants / Sales Executives

  • Service Advisors

  • Workshop Technicians

  • Auto Electricians

  • Mechanics

  • Diagnostic Technicians

  • Body Shop Technicians

  • Parts Executives

  • Warranty Executives

  • Customer Relationship Executives

  • Drivers

  • Team Leaders / Supervisors

  • Branch and Department Managers

• Develop recruitment sources specifically for skilled automotive manpower.

3. Recruitment Coordination

• Prepare and maintain candidate databases.

• Schedule interviews and coordinate with hiring managers.

• Conduct reference checks and document verification where applicable.

• Prepare salary proposals based on company norms and candidate experience.

• Coordinate offer letters, joining formalities and pre-employment documentation.

• Ensure timely closure of open positions.

4. Manpower Planning

• Monitor vacancies and manpower requirements across dealership locations.

• Maintain a Manpower Requirement Tracker.

• Track vacancies, interview status, selections, offers and joining status.

• Highlight critical vacancies and recruitment challenges to the HR Manager.

• Support workforce planning based on business requirements.

5. Employee Joining & Onboarding

• Coordinate joining formalities for new employees.

• Ensure completion of required documents, KYC, bank details, previous employment records and other HR documentation.

• Coordinate induction and department-level orientation.

• Ensure new employees are properly introduced to company policies, workplace practices and dealership processes.

6. Recruitment MIS & Reporting

Maintain regular recruitment reports covering:

• Department-wise vacancies

• Position-wise open requirements

• Candidates sourced

• Candidates interviewed

• Candidates selected

• Offers released

• Candidates joined

• Joining drop-outs

• Time-to-fill vacancies

• Source-wise recruitment performance

7. Employer Branding & Talent Network

• Build relationships with ITI colleges, automobile institutes and local employment networks.

• Participate in job fairs and recruitment drives.

• Develop a database of experienced automotive and commercial vehicle professionals.

• Promote the dealership as an attractive employer in the local market.

• Good knowledge of automotive dealership recruitment.

• Strong sourcing and candidate networking skills.

• Good understanding of Sales, Service, Workshop and Parts functions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good negotiation and candidate-handling ability.

• Strong follow-up and coordination skills.

• Ability to work with multiple hiring managers and locations.

• Good knowledge of MS Excel and recruitment MIS.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet recruitment targets.

Educational Qualification

Essential:

• Graduate in any discipline.

Preferred:

• MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent HR qualification.

Experience

• 2–5 years of recruitment experience, preferably in an automotive dealership, automobile industry, commercial vehicle dealership, service centre or manufacturing environment.

• Candidates with experience in recruiting automotive technicians and workshop manpower will be preferred.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be proactive, target-oriented and well connected with the local talent market, with the ability to recruit both white-collar and blue-collar manpower for a commercial vehicle dealership. Experience in sourcing technicians, mechanics, sales executives and service-related manpower will be an added advantage.
