HR Manager / HR Executive – Jewellery Retail Business

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, responsible and people-oriented HR professional to manage and strengthen our HR operations for a growing jewellery retail business.
The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling recruitment, employee management, attendance, performance monitoring, HR policies, training and employee engagement.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build a professional HR system rather than simply manage paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Hiring
Handle end-to-end recruitment for sales, showroom, back-office and other positions.
Source candidates through job portals, social media, references and local networks.
Conduct initial screening and interviews.
Coordinate final interviews and joining formalities.
Maintain a strong pipeline of potential candidates.
2. Employee Management
Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
Manage attendance, leaves, punctuality and employee discipline.
Handle employee grievances and workplace issues professionally.
Monitor employee behaviour, performance and adherence to company policies.
3. Performance Management
Develop and maintain employee KPIs and performance tracking systems.
Conduct regular performance reviews.
Identify underperforming employees and coordinate improvement plans.
Work with management to improve employee productivity and retention.
4. Training & Development
Identify training requirements for employees.
Coordinate induction and onboarding programs.
Help develop training programs for sales staff and other employees.
Support management in building a professional and customer-focused team.
5. HR Systems & Policies
Create and implement professional HR policies and SOPs.
Establish proper joining, probation, appraisal and exit processes.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
Ensure HR records and processes are properly maintained.
6. Employee Engagement & Culture
Build a positive and professional work culture.
Organise employee engagement activities where appropriate.
Improve communication between management and employees.
Help create a high-performance environment.
Candidate Requirements
2–5 years of relevant HR experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge of recruitment and employee management.
Strong follow-up and organisational skills.
Ability to handle difficult employee situations professionally.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Good knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets and HR software is preferred.
Experience in retail, jewellery, luxury retail or similar customer-facing businesses will be an advantage.
