Hostess (Fine Dining Restaurant) – Job Responsibilities

Position: Hostess

Industry: Fine Dining Restaurant

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.

• Greet guests in English, Hindi, and Kannada (preferred).

• Manage restaurant reservations and maintain the booking system.

• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.

• Coordinate with restaurant managers and service staff to ensure smooth seating arrangements.

• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and waiting lists efficiently.

• Maintain accurate records of reservations, walk-ins, and table availability.

• Ensure the reception and waiting area are clean, organized, and presentable.

• Answer telephone calls professionally and assist with reservation bookings.

• Communicate estimated waiting times to guests when required.

• Assist in managing guest flow during peak dining hours.

• Build positive relationships with guests and ensure a memorable dining experience.

• Address guest concerns politely and escalate issues to management when necessary.

• Maintain high grooming standards and a professional appearance at all times.

• Support restaurant promotions, events, and special dining experiences.

Required Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Kannada speaking preferred.

• Good command of English and Hindi.

• Pleasant personality with a customer-focused attitude.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced fine dining environment.

• Basic knowledge of restaurant reservation systems is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate or Diploma in Hospitality Management (preferred).

• 1–3 years of experience as a Hostess, Receptionist, or Guest Relations Executive in a fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, or premium hospitality establishment.

Salary:

As per industry standards and experience.

Working Hours:

Rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
