HOSTEL MANAGER – PREMIUM STUDENT HOUSING

ABOUT HOMVERSITY

Homversity is a premium student and young professional accommodation company focused on delivering high-quality living experiences through hospitality, technology, and community-driven operations. We are looking for an energetic and customer-focused Hostel Manager to oversee our Pune property.

JOB SUMMARY

The Hostel Manager will be responsible for the complete day-to-day operations of the hostel, ensuring an exceptional resident experience while driving occupancy through lead management and sales. This role requires a strong hospitality mindset, operational excellence, and the ability to build lasting relationships with students and parents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Administration

• Manage the complete day-to-day operations of the hostel.

• Ensure smooth functioning of housekeeping, maintenance, security, laundry, and food services.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across the property.

• Handle resident check-ins, check-outs, room allocations, and documentation.

• Resolve resident complaints promptly and professionally.

• Monitor inventory, vendor performance, and operational expenses.

• Ensure strict adherence to company SOPs and service standards.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

Sales & Lead Generation

• Handle all inbound enquiries through calls, WhatsApp, walk-ins, and online platforms.

• Conduct hostel tours and convert prospective residents into confirmed bookings.

• Follow up with leads until closure.

• Build relationships with nearby colleges, coaching institutes, and corporate offices for referrals.

• Plan and execute local marketing activities to improve occupancy.

• Achieve monthly occupancy and revenue targets.

Resident Experience

• Deliver exceptional customer service to students and parents.

• Organize community engagement activities and resident events.

• Build a welcoming, safe, and premium living environment.

• Maintain high resident satisfaction and retention.

Team Management

• Supervise housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, and security staff.

• Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance.

• Train the team on hospitality standards and customer service.

• Ensure discipline and operational efficiency across all departments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in premium hospitality, hotels, serviced apartments, premium PGs, co-living spaces, or student accommodation.

• Prior experience managing property operations is mandatory.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi (spoken and written).

• Strong leadership and people management abilities.

• Sales-oriented with proven lead conversion skills.

• Customer-first attitude with exceptional problem-solving capabilities.

• Professional grooming and well-mannered personality.

• Ability to work independently and make critical operational decisions.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and CRM tools.

• Comfortable using property management software and digital communication platforms.
