Job Title: General Duty Assistant (GDA)

Organization: Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre
Location: Shaikh Sarai Phase -2
Salary: ₹12,000 – ₹17,000 per month
Department: Nursing / Patient Care Services
Reports To: Nursing Supervisor / Ward In-Charge

Job Summary:

The General Duty Assistant (GDA) will support doctors and nursing staff in providing basic patient care and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients. The role involves assisting patients with daily activities and ensuring hygiene standards within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care Support:

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting

• Help in patient mobility, shifting, and positioning

• Ensure patient comfort and basic needs are met

2. Nursing Assistance:

• Support nursing staff during procedures and examinations

• Monitor and report changes in patient condition

• Assist in checking basic vitals (if required)

3. Hygiene & Housekeeping:

• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, beds, and equipment

• Change bed linens and ensure proper sanitation

• Follow infection control protocols

4. Patient Handling & Safety:

• Safely transfer patients (bed to wheelchair/stretchers)

• Follow hospital safety and emergency protocols

5. General Support:

• Assist in transporting patients, samples, and documents

• Maintain basic records as instructed

• Provide emotional support and courteous behavior with patients

Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum Qualification: 12th Pass

• GDA / Nursing Assistant certification preferred

• Fresher or 0–1 year experience in hospital setup

Required Skills:

• Basic patient care knowledge

• Good communication skills

• Physical stamina and ability to handle patients

• Compassionate and supportive attitude

• Ability to work in shifts

• Computer Knowledge

Working Conditions:

• Rotational shifts (Morning / Evening / Night)
