Staff Nurse

1.       To maintain personal hygiene and comforts of the patient as per the guidelines of the center

2.       To probe and understand patients clinical history

3.       To orient the patient and attendants of the protocols of the center pertinent to procedures

4.       To ensure clean and tidy environment for the patient by coordinating with the concerned departments Viz., House Keeping etc.

5.       To coordinate patient care with different department’s viz., Labs, Operations etc.

6.       To be responsible for imparting health education to the patient and attendants as well

7.       To be responsible for proper handing over and taking over of patients, equipment and nursing supplies

8.      To take prompt action in the event of an emergency and communicate to the consultants and arrange for emergency treatment

9.       To accompany ill patients to Investigations etc. as and when the patient condition calls for

10.   To ensure proper accounting of drugs, consumables and supplies

11.    To ensure that all medical equipment are in working condition and coordinate with the maintenance or any other department in case of any unserviciability of the equipment

12.    To organise training programmes for staff and personally train the junior staff

13.    To assist the junior staff in understanding the standard operating protocols and ensure implementation

14.    To assist in the implementation of infection control policy into clinical practice by communication and practical demonstration with all levels of staff

15.    To act as specialist advisor in all matters relating to infection control

16.    To evaluate and update control of infection measures throughout the areas of service responsibility as necessary

17.    To identify, investigate and monitor infectious or hazardous procedures

18.   To demonstrate high levels of commitment to personal/professional development and constantly update knowledge
