Nanny

We are looking for a Nanny to join our team at Karuna to provide quality services for pregnant moms, new mothers and children. The day-to-day tasks involve monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, and assisting doctors in medical procedures. The position offers an in-hand salary of ₹20,000 - ₹40,000.

Key Responsibilities:

• For the mother:

  • Jaappa care — daily oil massage, abdominal binding (patta), warm bath support, ajwain water, postpartum diet per family tradition

  • Rest facilitation — full charge of baby so the mother gets unbroken sleep; night feeds, diaper changes

  • Postpartum mobility — helping the mother get up, move, sit comfortably, especially post-C-section

  • Emotional presence — calm, attentive; flags if the mother seems unusually low or withdrawn (does not counsel or diagnose)

  • C-section site observation — watches for redness, swelling, discharge; flags to family immediately; never touches the wound

  For the infant/child:

  • Newborn handling — safe holding, swaddling, soothing, burping, paced feeding, breastfeeding positioning (support, not clinical advice)

  • Bathing & cord care — sponge bath for newborns under 2 weeks; daily cord stump care, clean and dry

  • Safe sleep — back-to-sleep positioning, SIDS-aware, no loose items in sleep space

  • Child care up to age 10 — supervised play, age-appropriate meals, nap routine, homework support for older siblings

Job Requirements:

The minimum qualification for this role is below 10th and 2 - 6+ years of experience. Problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask, compassionate and good communication skills are a must. Additional certification in relevant fields is a plus.
