Job Summary

The Care Helper is responsible for providing compassionate care and daily living support to persons with disabilities (PwDs), including individuals with locomotor disabilities, hearing impairment, visual impairment, intellectual disabilities, and other special needs. The role focuses on promoting dignity, independence, safety, and inclusion while assisting beneficiaries in their daily activities and supporting their participation in training, rehabilitation, and community programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist beneficiaries with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal support, as required.

• Provide physical assistance for movement, transfers, wheelchair support, and accessibility needs.

• Accompany beneficiaries to training sessions, medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other scheduled activities.

• Support trainers and coordinators in ensuring a safe, accessible, and inclusive learning environment.

• Encourage independence while providing assistance based on each individual's needs.

• Monitor the well-being of beneficiaries and promptly report any health or behavioral concerns to the Centre Manager.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of common areas, assistive devices, and support equipment.

• Maintain daily attendance, care logs, and other required documentation.

• Assist during recreational activities, life skills sessions, awareness programs, and community events.

• Communicate respectfully with beneficiaries, families, caregivers, and team members.

• Follow safeguarding, health, safety, and disability inclusion policies at all times.

• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Centre Manager.
