We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Service Engineer to oversee on-site technical operations, routine service work, and preventative maintenance for a long-term 20-year solar power plant project located in Surendranagar.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring continuous plant uptime, inspecting and servicing electrical equipment (inverters, transformers, panels, and switchgears), troubleshooting breakdown issues, and maintaining site equipment. Key Responsibilities
Solar Plant Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
Daily Performance Monitoring: Track daily solar generation, Performance Ratio (PR), inverter efficiency, and SCADA data to identify potential performance dips.
Preventative & Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing of solar PV modules, central/string inverters, DC combiners, transformers, and HT/LT panels.
Fault Diagnosis & Repairs: Quickly respond to electrical trips, grid outages, and component failures to minimize plant downtime.
Vendor & OEM Coordination: Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and local contractors for specialized equipment repairs and warranty claims.
General Service & On-Site Engineering
Electrical & Mechanical Servicing: Execute routine servicing and inspection of site machinery, backup generators, pumps, earthing pits, and lighting arresters.
Safety & Compliance (HSE): Enforce strict electrical safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Permit-to-Work systems, and proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Inventory & Spare Parts Management: Maintain accurate site inventory logs for critical spares, consumables, tools, and test instruments.
Reporting & Logbook Maintenance: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site performance logs, maintenance records, and fault analysis reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Renewable Energy.
Experience: 1–5 years of hands-on experience in solar power plant O&M, electrical equipment servicing, or industrial electrical maintenance.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in operating multi-meters, insulation resistance testers (Megger), thermal cameras, and clamp meters.
Deep understanding of HT/LT electrical lines, transformer operation, inverter diagnostics, and SCADA/monitoring systems.
Knowledge of local DISCOM procedures, grid synchronization, and statutory electrical safety norms.
Location & Availability:
Must be residing in or willing to relocate to Surendranagar, Gujarat.
Willingness to work on-site and respond to emergency breakdown calls when required.
