Car Evaluator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Used Car Evaluator to inspect and assess pre-owned vehicles before purchase, resale, or exchange. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating the vehicle’s mechanical condition, body condition, documentation, service history, and overall market value.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical inspections of used cars.

• Evaluate the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical systems, AC, tyres, and other mechanical components.

• Inspect the vehicle for accidental damage, repainting, dents, scratches, rust, flood damage, and structural repairs.

• Check the condition of the interior, exterior, accessories, and safety features.

• Perform test drives to identify mechanical or performance-related issues.

• Verify vehicle documents such as RC, insurance, PUC, service records, and ownership details.

• Identify discrepancies in odometer readings, vehicle history, or documentation.

• Estimate the appropriate purchase/resale value based on vehicle condition, age, mileage, model, and current market trends.

• Prepare accurate inspection reports with photographs and detailed observations.

• Coordinate with sales, procurement, workshop, and operations teams regarding vehicle evaluations.

• Ensure all inspections are conducted according to company quality and evaluation standards.

• Maintain accurate records of inspected vehicles and valuation data.

Requirements

• 1–6+ years of experience in used-car evaluation, automobile inspection, dealership, workshop, or a related automotive role.

• Good knowledge of automobile mechanics and vehicle components.

• Ability to identify accident repairs, repainting, mechanical defects, and other hidden issues.

• Good understanding of different car makes, models, variants, and specifications.

• Valid driving licence and ability to conduct test drives.

• Basic computer/mobile application skills for completing inspection reports.

• Good communication and documentation skills
