Key Responsibilities:
● CNC Programming:
○ Develop and write efficient CNC programs (e.g., G-code) for milling, turning, and
other CNC operations using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks
CAM, Siemens NX CAM).
○ Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine optimal
machining strategies and toolpaths.
○ Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling based on part requirements
and material properties.
○ Optimize existing CNC programs to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and
enhance overall machine productivity.
● Process Development & Improvement:
○ Assist in the development and validation of new manufacturing processes for
product introduction and existing product improvements.
○ Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and enhanced
product quality.
○ Contribute to troubleshooting manufacturing and machining issues, providing
timely and effective solutions.
● Collaboration & Support:
○ Work closely with machinists and operators to ensure successful program
implementation, machine setup, and troubleshooting on the shop floor.
○ Collaborate with design engineers to provide input on design for manufacturability
(DFM).
○ Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, tooling lists, setup sheets,
and process guidelines.
○ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
● Quality Assurance:
○ Ensure that manufactured parts meet all specified tolerances, fit, and finish
requirements.
○ Assist in quality control activities by verifying part dimensions and specifications.
