JOB TITLE : LEGAL MANAGER

LOCATION : This is a full-time, on-site role for Dehradun (Uttarakhand).

REPORTS TO : Founders / Managing Director

JOB OVERVIEW :

The Legal Manager will be responsible for safeguarding the brand’s legal interests, ensuring compliance with applicable laws  and managing all legal matters related to luxury retail, intellectual property, artisanal sourcing and high-value transactions. This role demands a deep understanding of Indian property, contract and consumer laws, along with sensitivity to the heritage and craftsmanship that define our brand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS :

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with artisans, suppliers, retail partners and collaborators.

• Intellectual Property Protection: Manage trademark, copyright, and design registrations to protect brand identity and unique jewellery designs.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to BIS hallmarking standards, gold and gemstone regulations and consumer protection laws.

• Dispute Resolution: Handle legal disputes, arbitration and litigation related to vendor contracts, customer claims or brand infringement.

• Property & Lease Agreements: Oversee legal aspects of boutique leases, pop-up stores and flagship showroom properties.

• Sourcing & Ethical Trade: Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing norms for precious metals and gemstones, including due diligence on supply chains.

• Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks in marketing campaigns, collaborations, and international sales.

• Advisory Role: Provide legal guidance to management on strategic initiatives, brand collaborations, and expansion plans.

·        Interdepartmental team collaboration : The role involves overseeing all legal aspects of the business while collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless operations.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

·        LLB/LLM from a reputed institution.

SKILLSETS REQUIRED :

• Experience in corporate legal roles, preferably in luxury retail, jewellery or fashion.

• Strong knowledge of Indian contract laws, IP laws, property laws and consumer protection regulations.

• In-depth knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliances and intellectual property rights (IPR) is essential, with a strong emphasis on accurate, thorough and                       well-structured legal documentation

• Demonstrated expertise in drafting, reviewing and implementing organizational policies and compliance frameworks.

• Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills.

• Experience in handling high-value transactions and cross-border agreements.

• Appreciation for heritage craftsmanship and luxury brand ethos.
