About the Role

TAXLITIGATER is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Advocate Assistant to support our legal team in handling GST, Income Tax, Customs, and other taxation-related matters. The ideal candidate will assist advocates in legal drafting, case preparation, tax litigation, compliance, and client coordination while ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

 Assist advocates in drafting legal notices, replies, appeals, petitions, affidavits, and other taxation-related documents.

 Conduct legal research on GST, Income Tax, Customs, and other direct and indirect tax laws.

 Prepare case summaries, briefs, and supporting documents for hearings before tax authorities, tribunals, and courts.

 Assist in filing appeals, applications, and legal documents before GST authorities, Income Tax authorities, and appellate forums.

 Coordinate with clients to collect documents, prepare case files, and resolve taxation-related queries.

 Maintain and organize legal records, case files, and statutory documents.

 Track hearing dates, filing deadlines, and compliance timelines.

 Assist advocates during tax litigation, assessments, audits, and departmental proceedings.

 Liaise with government departments and tax authorities whenever required.

 Ensure confidentiality of client information and maintain professional standards.

 Support the team in legal compliance, documentation, and other taxation-related assignments.

Required Skills

 Good knowledge of GST, Income Tax, and other taxation laws.

 Strong legal drafting and research skills.

 Familiarity with legal procedures before tax authorities and tribunals.

 Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

 Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

 Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualification

 LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws).

 Freshers with a strong interest in taxation and tax litigation are welcome to apply.

 Prior experience in a taxation law firm, CA firm, or legal practice related to GST, Income Tax, Customs, or commercial litigation will be an added advantage.
