A General Metal Worker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, repairing, and maintaining metal components and structures using a variety of tools, machinery, and welding or cutting equipment. They interpret technical drawings, ensure work meets quality standards, and follow workplace health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal products, structures, and equipment.

• Measure, cut, bend, shape, and finish metal materials according to specifications.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery safely and efficiently.

• Perform welding, grinding, drilling, and cutting tasks as required.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

• Identify and report equipment faults or material defects.

• Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines.
