Core Responsibilities
Operate plant equipment
Run and monitor turbines, boilers, generators, pumps, and compressors in the CHP system.
Monitor system performance
Check temperature, pressure, flow rates, and other parameters to ensure everything runs within limits.
Field inspections
Regularly patrol the plant to detect leaks, vibrations, unusual noises, or faults.
Start-up & shutdown operations
Assist in safely starting and stopping plant units as per procedures.
Troubleshooting
Identify and respond to equipment malfunctions or process abnormalities.
Maintenance support
Help maintenance teams during repairs, overhauls, and routine servicing.
⚙️ Safety & Compliance
Follow strict safety procedures and permit systems
Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) properly
Handle emergency situations like fires, gas leaks, or system failures
Ensure compliance with environmental and operational regulations
📝 Documentation & Reporting
Record readings and log sheets
Report abnormalities to control room operators or supervisors
Maintain shift reports and incident records
👷 Skills & Requirements
Diploma or ITI in mechanical/electrical/instrumentation (varies by company)
Basic understanding of:
Thermodynamics and power plant processes
Pumps, valves, turbines, and boilers
Ability to work in shifts (including nights)
Physical fitness (job involves walking, climbing, outdoor work)
