Job Summary

A Ward Helper assists nurses and other healthcare professionals in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients. They support non-clinical patient care, transport patients and supplies, and help ensure the smooth functioning of the hospital ward.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with moving, walking, and using wheelchairs or stretchers.

• Help patients with basic hygiene, feeding, and comfort under nurse supervision.

• Transport patients to diagnostic tests, operation theatres, or other departments.

• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, beds, and ward areas.

• Change bed linens and assist in preparing patient beds.

• Carry medical supplies, equipment, specimens, and documents between departments.

• Dispose of biomedical waste according to hospital protocols.

• Replenish ward supplies and report shortages.

• Support nurses during patient transfers and emergencies.

• Follow infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times.
