Job Description
Collect blood samples through venipuncture and other approved methods.
Verify patient identity and test requirements before sample collection.
Properly label and document all collected samples.
Follow infection-control, hygiene, and biomedical-waste disposal procedures.
Handle, store, and transport samples according to laboratory protocols.
Provide a comfortable and professional experience to patients during sample collection.
Monitor patients for any immediate discomfort or adverse reaction during collection.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the phlebotomy area and equipment.
Coordinate with laboratory staff regarding sample requirements and discrepancies.
Maintain accurate collection records and ensure timely dispatch of samples.
Follow all applicable safety and quality-control procedures.
