Job Title: Experienced Phlebotomist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and certified Phlebotomist with a minimum of 2–5 years of experience to join our healthcare team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining strict infection control standards. Excellent patient communication skills and proficiency in handling pediatric and geriatric patients are highly required.

Key Responsibilities

• Blood Collection: Perform venipuncture, finger pricks, and heel sticks safely.

• Patient Care: Identify patients accurately, explain procedures, and calm anxious individuals.

• Specimen Processing: Label, sort, and log collected samples into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

• Safety Protocols: Adhere to infection control, biomedical waste management, and safety guidelines.

• Inventory Control: Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy trays, vacuettes, needles, and tourniquets.

• Home Collections: Conduct home sample collection visits across Chennai if required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT) or a certified Phlebotomy course.

• Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of hands-on phlebotomy experience in a reputed hospital or diagnostic centre.

• Technical Skills: Expert in locating veins and executing difficult blood draws smoothly.

• Mobility: Possession of a valid two-wheeler driving licence and a smartphone is preferred for home collection roles.

• Compassion: Strong patient empathy and comforting bedside manner.

• Speed: Efficient sample collection during peak morning rush hours.

• Accuracy: Zero-error handling of sample tube coding and documentation.
