📍 Position

Retail Pharmacist

🎯 Role Summary

The pharmacist will be responsible for end-to-end management of the pharmacy, including dispensing medications, inventory control, customer service, compliance, and daily operations, ensuring the store's smooth and profitable operation.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

1. 💊 Prescription Handling & Dispensing

• Accurately dispense medicines according to prescriptions

• Explain to customers the usage and doses of medicines as per the doctor's prescription

• Handle Schedule H, H1, and X drugs with proper documentation

2. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Customer Service & Sales

• Attend to walk-in customers and provide basic medicine guidance

• Handle queries on availability, substitutes, and pricing

• On customers' request, arrange home deliveries through a delivery boy/ courier service

3. 📦 Inventory Management

• Maintain optimum stock levels (fast-moving vs slow-moving medicines)

• Place orders with distributors (usually 1–2 times daily)

• Track expiry, near-expiry, and dead stock. Maintain records of returned stock and refunds from distributors.

• Ensure proper storage conditions

4. 💰 Billing & Cash Management

• Operate billing software / POS system

• Handle cash, UPI, debit/credit card transactions

• Reconcile daily cash and digital collections

5. 📊 Purchase & Supplier Coordination

• Coordinate with stockists/distributors/MRs for:

  • Purchase margins

  • Cash discounts

  • Scheme offers (buy 10 get 1, etc.)

• Ensure the best procurement rates to maintain profitability

6. 📋 Compliance & Licensing

• Ensure compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940

• Maintain required registers:

  • Schedule H1 register

  • Narcotic drug records (if applicable)

7. 🧹 Store Operations

• Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of medicines

• Ensure proper labelling and shelving

• Handle the opening and closing of the shop independently

8. 📈 Business & Growth Responsibility

• Monitor daily sales and margins

• Improve business through:

  • Customer retention

  • Sales growth

• Control pilferage and wastage

🧠 Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of medicines and substitutes

• Practical understanding of retail margins & schemes

• Good communication in Hindi/English (Marathi, Gujarati is a plus)

• Basic computer knowledge (billing software), mobile apps for medicine ordering, courier booking

• MS Office - Excel / Word

• Independently communicate via email with distributors/ customers

• Ability to work independently and make decisions

🎓 Qualifications

• D.Pharm / B.Pharm (mandatory)

• Registered with Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council

⏰ Working Conditions

• Typical shift: 10 hours

• Weekly off: 1 day

• There are no extra leaves other than the common leaves declared to all the staff.

💵 Salary Range

• ₹18,000 – ₹22,000 per month (Varies with candidate qualification & experience)

• Must handle pressure during peak hours

• Need to balance:

  • Doctor relationships

• Zero to two years of work experience

• Trustworthy and responsible

• Good with customers + numbers + stock

• Able to increase sales, not just dispense medicines

• Staying in the western suburb (Goregaon to Dahisar)

• Preference is for a lady candidate
