Job Title: Pharmacist
Job Summary:
A pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring patient safety, and providing guidance on the proper use of prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs. They play a key role in healthcare by advising patients and collaborating with medical professionals to optimize treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret prescriptions issued by physicians or other healthcare providers
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and interactions
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements
Maintain patient records and medication histories
Monitor patient health progress and recommend therapy adjustments when needed
Manage inventory, including ordering and storing medications properly
Provide immunizations and health screenings (depending on setting)
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm / Pharm.D)
Valid pharmacist license/registration (as per local regulatory authority)
Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and interpersonal skills
