Job Description – Lab Technician

Position: Lab Technician
Department: Laboratory / Diagnostics
Location: Nestiva Labs
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting To: Lab In-Charge / HOD – Laboratory

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood, urine and other routine laboratory investigations as assigned.

• Collect, receive, label and process patient samples accurately.

• Follow proper sample collection, storage and transportation procedures.

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers.

• Perform tests according to approved SOPs and laboratory protocols.

• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.

• Conduct quality control checks and report any abnormal findings to the Lab In-Charge.

• Maintain proper records of samples, test results and laboratory activities.

• Ensure proper identification and handling of patient samples to avoid errors.

• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards in the laboratory.

• Follow biomedical waste management and infection-control procedures.

• Coordinate with doctors, front desk and other departments regarding reports and sample-related queries.

• Inform the senior/lab in-charge immediately about equipment malfunction, reagent shortage or sample-related issues.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and laboratory reports.

• Support timely report preparation and delivery.

• Perform any other laboratory-related duties assigned by management.

Required Qualification

• DMLT / BMLT / MLT or equivalent qualification.

• Freshers may be considered depending on the requirement.

• Prior diagnostic laboratory experience will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and sample handling.

• Basic computer knowledge.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting timelines.

• Knowledge of laboratory safety and quality-control procedures.

• Timely completion of assigned investigations.
