लैब टेक्नीशियन

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, identify and properly preserve water and environmental samples.

• Perform physical, chemical and microbiological testing of water and wastewater samples as per approved test methods

• Perform environmental testing related to ambient air, stack emissions, noise and other environmental monitoring, as applicable to the laboratory's scope.

• Operate laboratory instruments such as pH meters, conductivity meters, turbidity meters, spectrophotometers, DO meters and other analytical equipment.

• Prepare reagents, standards and solutions required for testing.

• Carry out calibration checks, instrument verification and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.

• Maintain laboratory records, worksheets, test observations and raw data accurately.

• Ensure proper sample traceability and follow laboratory sample handling procedures.

• Perform quality control activities including blanks, standards, duplicates and other applicable QC checks.

• Identify abnormal or inconsistent test results and report them to the concerned supervisor.

• Prepare test reports and maintain documentation in accordance with laboratory procedures.

• Follow laboratory safety procedures and proper handling/disposal of chemicals and samples.

• Assist in maintaining compliance with NABL ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, where applicable.

• Participate in internal quality checks, audits and method verification/validation activities.

• Carry out field sampling and environmental monitoring at customer sites when required.
