About the role
This role sits with a Pune-based fintech building open finance infrastructure for the Indian market. The company works with banks and other regulated financial institutions to provide API-driven data connectivity, analytics, and connected finance services. As a Java Developer, you'll join the engineering team and contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of backend modules and APIs that power live financial systems. You'll work under structured mentorship from senior engineers and build your skills through real, in-production work — not toy projects. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Pune. Open to candidates eligible to work in India.
What you'll do
Develop, unit test, and maintain Java backend components, APIs, and microservices
Collaborate with the engineering team to design scalable, efficient solutions
Debug and resolve defects and performance issues across services
Write clean, modular, and well-documented code
Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards
Stay current with Java backend frameworks, libraries, and industry trends
Assist in system integration, testing, and deployment tasks
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Strong fundamentals in Core Java, OOP, data structures, and algorithms
Familiarity with Spring or Spring Boot, REST APIs, or web frameworks is a plus
Understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL
Comfortable with Git and version control workflows
Analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn
Strong written and verbal communication, ability to work in a team
