IT Asset Manager

The IT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle management of the organization’s IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and related infrastructure. This role ensures cost efficiency, compliance, risk mitigation, and optimal utilization of IT resources while aligning asset management strategies with business and technology objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IT asset management (ITAM) policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Manage the lifecycle of IT assets from procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, to disposal.

• Maintain accurate asset inventories using ITAM tools and ERP systems.

• Track software licenses to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.

• Conduct regular audits of hardware and software assets.

• Collaborate with IT, finance, procurement, and security teams to optimize asset usage and budgeting.

• Monitor asset depreciation, warranty status, and service contracts.

• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts where applicable.

• Ensure secure disposal of retired IT equipment in compliance with data protection regulations.

• Prepare reports on asset utilization, compliance, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

• 3-4 years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, or IT procurement.

• Strong knowledge of hardware, software licensing models, and IT infrastructure.

  We are looking for an experienced IT Asset Manager to manage end-to-end IT Asset Management (ITAM) operations under a managed services model. The role focuses on ensuring complete asset lifecycle control, compliance, automation, and audit readiness across distributed environments. The objective is to achieve 100% asset visibility, compliance, and reconciliation, while minimizing manual intervention through automation.

  Key Objectives

  - Ensure 100% asset lifecycle compliance

  - Achieve 100% FAR vs Physical Verification alignment

  - Enable automation-driven asset tracking and reporting

  - Maintain zero audit non-compliance and full policy adherence

  Key Responsibilities

  1. Asset Lifecycle Management

  - Manage IT assets from procurement to disposal.

  - Ensure proper tagging (barcode/RFID) and system entry.

  - Handle allocation, reallocation, and return of assets.

  - Maintain asset tracking through ManageEngine SDP-ITAM.

  - Coordinate with HR and IT teams for onboarding/offboarding.

  2. Asset Verification & Audits

  - Implement remote and onsite asset verification processes.

  - Conduct:

  - Quarterly video-based verification for remote users

  - Physical audits for onsite assets

  - Maintain photographic evidence and audit logs.

  - Ensure reconciliation with Fixed Asset Register (FAR).

  - Manage escalation for non-compliant users.

  3. Compliance & Governance

  - Enforce ITAM policies and SOPs.

  - Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOX, and internal policies.

  - Monitor asset security posture:

  - Encryption

  - EDR

  - Patch management

  - MDM compliance

  4. Automation & Integration

  - Drive automation with minimal human intervention.

  - Manage integrations with:

  - HRMS (SuccessFactors)

  - Procurement (Oracle)

  - MDM tools (Jamf, Intune)

  - Monitor APIs and scripts for real-time updates.

  5. Documentation & Reporting

  - Maintain asset documentation, handover forms, and compliance records.

  - Prepare monthly review reports and dashboards.

  - Provide centralized visibility to stakeholders.

  6. Vendor & Asset Pool Management

  - Manage vendor coordination and asset procurement.

  - Maintain regional asset pools and geo-tagging.

  - Track warranties, contracts, and asset depreciation.

  7. Risk & Fraud Management

  - Track lost/stolen/blacklisted assets.

  - Implement fraud detection mechanisms.

  - Resolve discrepancies within defined SLAs.

  Required Qualifications

  - Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

  - 3–5 years of experience in IT Asset Management / IT Operations

  - Hands-on experience with ITAM tools (ManageEngine, ServiceNow, SCCM, etc.)

  - Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and licensing models

  Preferred Qualifications

  - ITIL Certification

  - CITAM or equivalent certification

  - Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)

  - Knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection practices
