The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and applications, while delivering high-quality customer service.
Provide first- and second-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and security updates.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and escalate complex problems to higher-level support if required.
Support end-users via phone, email, remote tools, and in-person assistance.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory and other systems.
Ensure compliance with IT security policies, including antivirus, patch management, and data protection.
Document issues, solutions, and user requests in the ticketing/helpdesk system.
Assist in hardware refreshes, software rollouts, and IT projects.
Provide onboarding support and IT orientation for new employees.
Maintain an inventory of IT assets and coordinate repairs or replacements.
Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and/or Linux environments.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and common business applications.
Good understanding of computer networks (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience with remote support tools and helpdesk ticketing systems.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently under pressure.
